Dubuque Telegraph Herald, Sun., 30 Apr. 1972.

McGregor- Mrs. Virginia C. Ames, 57, of McGregor, died Saturday morning at a Marion, Ia., hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Thornburg Funeral Home here, where friends may call after 2 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

Surviving are five sons, Gary of Calmar, Ia., Rodney and Marty, both of McGregor, Danny of Goleta, Calif., Clifford of Chicago, Ill.; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Joan) Mezera of Marion, and Mrs. Richard ((Judi) Anderson of Pearl City, Hawaii; two sisters, Mrs. William Maritz (sic) of Cedar Rapids, Ia., and Mrs. Esther Springer of Indianapolis, Ind.; three brothers, John Martin of Lansing, Mich., and Ralph and Laurence Martin, both of Waukon, Ia.; and 17 grandchildren.
