McGregor- Sam Little and Edward Reardon, both residents of Farmersburg, Ia., are dead today as the result of an auto accident on the Farmersburg-Guttenberg road Sunday afternoon. The men, in company with Gilbert Jose, George Glawe and Louis Saacke, were driving to Guttenberg to witness a ball game and in an attempt to pass another car they got to close to the edge of the gravel and the machine turtled, rolling over three times. All five were hurt and Little died a short time after being brought to Guttenberg. Reardon died early Monday morning at Farmersburg, where the men were taken after receiving medical attention at Elkader.
Saacke is in a critical condition but has a chance to recover. Jose received internal injuries, the extent not being determined early Monday. Glawe suffered cuts and bruises. Saacke was the driver and owner of the car.

Edward Martin Reardon was born in Wagner township, Clayton County, Iowa, on May 3, 1870, and was stricken down by tragic death on August 19, 1928. On November 14, 1894 he was united in marriage to Ida Freeman. For two years immediately following their marriage they lived at Riceville, Iowa. The following years they have lived in the vicinity of Farmersburg and moved to Farmersburg in 1913. For several years following he continued to operate his farm. They were blessed with four children, three of whom survive him, Leroy, William and Helen Oelke. Besides these children and the wife he is survived by two brothers, Dr. Charles of Jamestown, N.D., and Dan of Farmersburg, and two sisters, Mrs. Ida Lenth and Mrs. Mary Seery of Evanston, Ill.
The deceased was an industrious man, a loyal citizen and an exceptionally good neighbor, marked by an unusually kind disposition. Thru these qualities he made many friends and his sudden death brings deep sorrow to a great host of people.
Burial services were held from the Methodist church of Farmersburg on August 22, 1928, conducted by Rev. H. E. Morrow and Rev. Wolfe. Interment in the Farmersburg cemetery.
