Funeral services for Martin C. Larson, 73, of Monona were held Wednesday afternoon July 22, in Monona at the Schultz Funeral Home at 1:00 o'clock and at the Norway Lutheran Church at St. Olaf at 2:00 o'clock with Rev. Dr. S. J. Strandjord, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the city cemetery at Monona. Mr. Larson died at the Postville Hospital Sunday afternoon, July 19, at 3:00 o'clock. Death was due to injuries received the night before when he was struck by a car while crossing the street to his home in Monona.

He was born a son of Andrew and Josephine Larson on January 10, 1880 in Marion township, Clayton county. He was baptized and confirmed in the Norway Lutheran church at St. Olaf.

He was married to Louena Peterson on June 25, 1904 at St. Olaf. The couple farmed in this vicinity until February 1942 when they moved to Monona. Since that time Mr. Larson had been a painter and decorator. In recent years he spent much of his time working in his yard and garden.

In addition to his wife he is survived by four children: Clarence M. of Monona; Mrs. Elmer Brockmeier (Adelia) of Postville; Roscoe L. of Elgin; and Aldo M. of Castalia; also four brothers, Peter, Henry and William, of Elkader and John of St. Olaf. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, a brother, and a son, Joseph, who passed away in infancy.
