Cedar Rapids- Anita E. Mertens, 81, of 1400 Second Ave. S.E., died Wednesday morning in her home following a brief illness. Services: 10 a.m. Monday, Turner Chapel East. Burial: Farmersburg Cemetery, Farmersburg. Friends may call at the chapel from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Survivors include two sisters, Marie Miller of Edgewood and Arlene York of Douglas, Mich. Also surviving are nieces and nephews.

Born June 1, 1910, in Farmersburg to John and Anna Meyer Mertens, she attended Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls and later was an accountant for Martin Marietta for many years.

The Rev. Theodore G. Lilley will officiate. The family requests no flowers, but memorials to the charity of the donor's choice.
