Homer Butler, an old pioneer of Sperry twp., died Nov. 16, 1889, at his home in Seattle, Washington, which place had been his home only a few months.
He resided here in Sperry ever since 1849 until a few years ago, when he moved with his family to Kansas, and from there to Seattle. He was the father of Mrs. C.B. Phillips, of this place.

Note: Served as a 2nd Lieutenant in Co. D, 21st IA Infantry. Buried Lake View cemetery, Seattle, WA. Wife was Betty Freeman.
