Verda Mae Kaiser

Funeral services were held for Verda Mae Kaiser on January 18, 1979, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Garnavillo with Pastor Mark Olson officiating. Mrs. Kaiser died suddenly on January 15, 1979 at the Guttenberg Municipal Hospital.

Burial was in the Garnavillo City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Don Koss, Lester Kramer, Hugh Peake, Don Steward, Norman Gunderson, and Arnold Larson. Tuecke Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Verda Mae Drahn was born on March 27, 1915 in Farmersburg, Iowa, the daughter of Frederich W. Drahn and Mamie Meyer. Verda Mae Drahn and Gerhard Kaiser were married on October 11, 1938, by Dr. H. Seifkes at St. Paul in Monona. There were four children born to this marriage, David, Karolyn (Mrs. Marvin Anderson), Ron, and William.

Mrs. Kaiser was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Irma.

Survivors include her husband, Gerhard, their four children, David of Outlook, Saskatchewan, Canada, Karolyn Anderson, of Oskaloosa, Ron of Garnavillo, and William of New Jersey, 10 grandchildren, and one sister, Berniece Zurcher of Minneapolis, Minn.
