Died at the home of his parents, on Friday September 6th, 1889, Henry Rehberg, eldest son of Wm. Rehberg, at the age of eighteen years. This is one of the saddest incidents that we have ever chronicled.

Henry was a young man, who was just developing into the full strength and vigor of manhood the pride and hope of his parents. He was a young man of quiet, modest disposition, and found the greatest happiness in aiding his parents in founding their home, now made desolate by his sudden death.

Our sympathies are with the stricken parents who have within so short a time been deprived of the support and light of their household. The remains were buried at the Garnavillo cemetery on Saturday. Rev. Sommerlad preached an appropriate sermon and a large concourse of friends were present.

Note: Confirmation of which Garnavillo cemetery he is buried in would be appreciated. Contact the obit board administrator / Clayton co. IAGenWeb coordinator. His mother, Fredericka Rehberg died 10/8/1903 and has an entry in the county death records which state burial was in Garnavillo, but neither she or Henry appear on a burial list for a Garnavillo cemetery.
