Last Rites Held For Frank Kadlec

Funeral services for Joseph Frank Kadlec, 95, were held Friday afternoon, Nov. 1, at 1:30 o'clock at the Schultz Funeral home with Father Donald Heineman officiating.

Burial was in St. Wenceslaus cemetery in Giard township.

Mr. Kadlec died at the Postville hospital, Tuesday, Oct. 29, where he was taken Oct. 22 for medical care.

He was born July 21, 1873, a son of Joseph and Veronica, nee Nedle, Kadlec in Lebnice, Chechoslavokia (sic). He was baptized in February, 1875. In 1875 his family came to the United States, settling in Giard township. He was married to Frances Levinsky, March 2, 1920, in Chicago, Ill.

All of his adult life was spent on the same farm with the exception of nine years spent in Milwaukee, Wis., and Chicago, Ill. He enjoyed exceptional health until this last summer, when he began to fail.

Preceding him in death were his first wife, the former Anna Lestina; one daughter, Anna; two sons, August and Joseph; his parents; three sisters, Barbara, Kate and Mary; and three brothers, John, James and Jacob.

Surviving are his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Ben (Lydia) Barke of Milwaukee, Wis., and Mrs. Raymond (Darlene) DeSotel of Monona; four sons, Raymond and Elheart of Milwaukee, Wis., Fred of McGregor, and George of Columbus, Ohio; one sister, Mrs. Emma Novak of Cornish, Colo.; one brother, Frank of McGregor; 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Music at the services was provided by the seventh and eighth grade choir of St. Patrick's school with Sister M. Anita the accompanist.

Pallbearers were Ben Marovets, Stanley Marovets, Sylvester Lotza, Leo Vlazny, John Froning and Lloyd Welch.
