Died at the Hospital for the Insane, at Mount Pleasant, Iowa, on Wednesday, Oct. 26th, 1870, Jonathan Swan, in his 56th year.
The deceased was once a prominent, active farmer and business man of this County. All the old settlers remember him as a man of strict integrity and his lamentable end will be regretted by all.
Mr. Swan was taken to the Hospital in 1861, shortly after his reason had taken flight, and since then, he has known no sorrows or joy but protracted an automatic existence. He is better off now, and this should be a consolation to his bereaved family and friends.
