McGregor, Iowa, Nov 2 – Esquire Joseph C. Hoxsie died at the home of his son’s, Elial Hoxsie Saturday night almost 86 years old.

The Christian Scientists conducted funeral services Monday afternoon. Squire Hoxsie has lived in this vicinity since ’58, and is known to young and old. For some months he has been suffering from a paralytic stroke. His aged wife is bedridden, and her death is daily expected.

Note: his wife Mary, died later in November 1896, they are buried in Pleasant Grove cemetery
