Valle, Halvor L. Halverson 1846-1930

Halvor L. Halverson Valle was born, August 14, 1846, at Vegle Numedal Norway and died, Nov. 20, 1930, at the old homestead in Wagner township after a lingering illness.

He immigrated to this country when 4 years old with his parents, Lars Halverson Valle and Helga Vehus. He was 84 years old at his death and lived on the old homestead for 80 years continuously.

He leaves to mourn his loss, 2 brothers, Lewis Halverson of St. Olaf and S.T. Halverson of Forest City, Iowa, and 2 sisters, Mrs. Nels Olson of Forest City and Mrs. Vine W. Harris, Vancouver, Canada.

Mr. Halverson was the treasurer of the Norway church for 40 years.

The funeral was held Sunday, Nov. 23, at the Norway church, Rev. S.J. Strandjord officiated and a large crowd attended.

Olson and Henry Olson of Forest City, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Olson and son Harold of Boscobel, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Edward Auer of Garnavillo, Iowa; Ole Valle and Mrs. Gus Erickson and son Norman of Decorah, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Matt Weber and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Max Walter and daughter, and Miss Mary Kerr of Guttenberg, Iowa; Mr. Paul Fetron of Garnavillo, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Holt, and Mr. and Mrs. Gurt Roen of Boscobel, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Erickson and Mr. and Mrs. Stanton Erickson.
