Thursday, 30 July 1914, Guttenberg Press, p1, c1:

Death of Julius Woock.

On Saturday evening at 7:30 o’clock at his home in this city occurred the death of Julius Woock, after suffering for some time with cancer of the stomach. Deceased was born at Warendorf, Pommern, Germany, on December 2, 1841, and therefore was 72 years, 7 months and 23 days of age at the time of his death. He came to America at the age of 19 years, and in the year 1881 he was married at Glen Haven, Wisconsin, to Miss B. Amann, and came to Guttenberg with his family 34 years ago, where he lived until his death. He was a kind and true father, husband and friend and was a patient sufferer. All that loving hands could do and medical knowledge could suggest was done for him to ward off death, but all to no avail. His death is deeply mourned by his widow, three sons (Rudolf, Henry and Clarence Woock, of Guttenberg)[,] five daughters (Mrs. Fred Wolf, Mrs. Emil Kurtz and the Misses Martha and Katie Woock, of Guttenberg, and Mrs. Harry Roeder, of Littleport), two step sons (George and Fred Herman, of Guttenberg), several grand children and a large number of relatives and friends by whom he will be sadly missed. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon from his late residence and interment was made in the city cemetery. Attorney Chas. E. Scholz, of Guttenberg, officiated at the funeral. May he rest in peace.
