Elkader, Ia., Dec 16 - Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon for Ernest H. Bente at the Evangelical church, Rev. C.T. Brewster, pastor of the Congregational church, officiating in the absence of Rev. Franke.

The death of Mr. Ernest Henry Bente occurred last Monday morning, December 8th, at Iowa City, where he went several weeks ago for treatment. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Bente, born May 23, 1875, in Cox Creek township, Clayton County. He is survived by his widow, by his parents, and by three brothers, William, John and Sam Bente. The funeral was held on Wednesday afternoon, December 10, at two o'clock at the Friedens Evangelical Church in Elkader. In the absence of Rev. Mr. Franke, the service was conducted by Rev. C. T. Brewster, pastor of the Elkader Congregational Church. Burial took place in the cemetery at Communia.
