The funeral of Johnnie Radloff, the oldest child, and only son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Radloff, who died at the family home in Volga City, was held here Friday, Feb. 14, with interment in the family burial lot.
Less than two weeks ago the young man was present here in Read, at the burial of his father, Herman Radloff, and no one knew, least of all the departed himself, that he was so soon to follow his father to the other shore.
Both fell victims to the dreaded disease, influenza. Their deaths came as a shock to our community, the Radloff family having lived here for many years before moving to Volga City.
Mr. Radloff was 41 years of age, and his son about 20, passing away just at the age when a man's power commences to become useful to industry.
The deceased is survived by his mother and eight sisters. The two breadwinners of the family are gone, indeed a cruel blow, sad beyond measure, and a lot almost too hard to bear for the grief-stricken family.

It does seem as though Volga City was receiving more than her share of afflictions, and it is all so sad.Thursday morning Johnnie Radloff passed away. This is doubly sad as his father was buried a week ago and Johnnie was the oldest son and help to his mother who is left with nine children.
