Guttenberg, Ia. – Special: Miss Evelyn Luther, 27, died at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George P. Luther, Friday evening at 7:20 o’clock, following an illness of 12 years, the greater part of the time as an invalid.

Moss Luther was born in Guttenberg, May 9, 1907. She attended St. Mary’s School here. A short time of her life was spent with an uncle and aunt in St. Louis.

She is survived by her parents, six sisters , Mrs. Veryl Smith, and Mrs. Earl Thieman, of Marble Rock, Mrs. Nelson Gore , of Seattle, Wash., Mrs. Howard Ash, of Millville, and Luther of Guttenberg; six brothers, Frank of Waukon, Harold of Milwaukee, Wis., Rueben, Leroy, Raymond and Anthony of Guttenberg, and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted the Rev. J. A. Dupont of St. Mary’s Church in Guttenberg Monday morning at 9 o’clock with burial in the City Cemetery.

Miss Evelyn Luther passed away at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. P. Luther, in Guttenberg, Friday evening at 7:20 o'clock, at the age of 27 years, nine months and six days, following an illness of 12 years' duration, the greater part of which she was an invalid.

Miss Luther was born at Guttenberg, Iowa, on May 9, 1907, where she spent her entire life, with the exception of a short time when she visited with her uncle and aunt at St. Louis, Mo. She attended St. Mary's school here. During her long illness she was a patient sufferer. All was done for her that could be done to save her life, but all to no avail. Her kind and loving disposition won her many friends during life.

Her death is deeply mourned by her parents, six sisters, Mrs. Veryl Smith and Mrs. Earl Thieman, of Marble Rock, Mrs. Nelson Gore, of Seattle, Wash., Mrs. Howard Ash, of Millville, and the Misses Bernice and Lodina, of this place; six brothers, Frank Luther of Waukon, Harold Luther of Milwaukee, Wis., Reuben, LeRoy, Raymond and Anthony Luther, of Guttenberg, and numerous other relatives and friends, by whom she will be sadly missed.

Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. J. A. Dupont at St. Mary's Catholic church in Guttenberg, on Monday morning, with interment in the city cemetery. The funeral was largely attended.
