Elkader, Ia., Nov. 11 - Melvin Staubs, 15, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Staubs, of Elkader, died in an Independence hospital Saturday following an operation for appendicitis. He was taken there about a week ago for an injury to his eye and developed appendicitis while there.
The funeral was held Tuesday morning at St. Joseph's church here. A requiem high mass was read by Fr. Taken. Students of St. Joseph's school of which he was a member, attended the services in a body. Interment was made in St. Joseph's cemetery.
He is survived by his parents, two sisters, Marguerite and Dorothy, and several other relatives.
