St. Olaf- Vera M. Francis, 76, of Bethany, Mo., formerly of St. Olaf, died Wednesday morning in her home after a short illness. She was a nurse at Central Community Hospital, Elkader, for several years.

Surviving are three daughters, Raema Liberti of Churchville, Pa., Jeanne of Elkader and Viva Weber of Oelwein; five sons, George of Bloomfield, Job of Dubuque, John of Muscatine, Judson of St. Olaf and Paul of Bethany, Mo.; two brothers, Clarence Smith of Arlington and Harold Smith of Garrison; 25 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday in Norway Lutheran Church. Burial: church cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at Leonard-Witt's, Elkader.
