McGregor- Lyle H. Bean, 85, of Kansas City, Mo., formerly of McGregor, died Monday, Dec. 2, 2002, in Bishop Spencer Place, Kansas City, after a 2 1/2 year illness. There were no services. his body was cremated. Arrangements with D. W. Newcomer's, Stine & McClure Chapel, Kansas City, Mo.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth; a daughter, Elizabeth Coulter of Iowa City; and a brother, William Reinow of Mystic, Conn.

Also surviving are a son-in-law, Charles Coulter; and a granddaughter, Anne Elizabeth Coulter of Evanston, Ill.

He attended the University of Iowa. He was an independent Insurance agent, served as commissioner of the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority and was past president of the Kansas City Community Chest. Lyle and Elizabeth (Russell) Bean were married 65 years.
