Guttenberg- Frances E. Mahowald, 78, died Saturday evening at the Guttenberg Municipal Hospital.

Survivors include her husband, John "Jack"; three daughters Mrs. Adele Parker and Peppy Mahowald, both of Guttenberg, and Mrs. Betty Jane Garaghty of Elkader; three sisters, Mrs. Lillian Nieland of Guttenberg, Mrs. Ruth McCann and Mrs. Jean Kress, both of Chicago; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

Services: 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Tuecke-Allyn in Guttenberg, where there will be a wake service at 7:30 tonight.
