Adolph Ole Christ Ruroden, son of Ole and Mary Ruroden, was born in Clayton county, Sept. 8, 1873, and passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Robert Barker, at Elgin, April 30, at the age of 76 years.

His entire life was spent near Elgin. He was baptized and confirmed at the Marion Lutheran church by Rev. Valdland.

On Sept. 21, 1907, he was united in marriage to Rose Odegard. To this union 14 children were born.

He leaves to mourn his death, his wife and eight children, Kenneth, Maynard, (Renneta) Mrs. Barney Larson, (Myrtle) Mrs. Nanfred Osmunson, (Violet) Mrs. Robert Barker, Alvin, Clarence, and (Thelma) Mrs. Harold Patrick. Also two sisters, Mrs. Bertina Gilbertson, Mrs. Gina Amundson and one brother, Olaf, 23 grandchildren and one great-grandson and many relatives and friends.

Those preceding him in death were six sons, four brothers, two sisters and his parents.

He took ill in Feb. of 1949 and was taken to the University hospital at Iowa City. After returning home he never fully recovered but was able to be up part of the time. Feb. 18, 1950 he was taken to the West Union Community Hospital. On Feb. 22 he was brought to the home of his daughter Mrs. Harold Patrick where he spent several weeks, going then to the home of his daughter Mrs. Robert Barker where he passed away.

Funeral services were held at the Marion Lutheran church, Wednesday, May 3, Rev. Strandjord officiating.

Pallbearers were Leslie Ruroden, Millard Gilbertson, Clifford Gileson, Norman Osmundson, Arthur and Burnell Larson.
