Elkader- Services for Vernon Kramer, 49, farmer in Mederville community, will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at MacTaggart Funeral Home in Elkader, the Rev. Paul Kitterer officiating. Burial will be in Mederville Cemetery.

Kramer died Monday afternoon after suffering the past year with a malignant condition of the throat. He was born and raised on the farm where he lived his entire life. He never married.

He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Harry Kramer of Mederville, and three brothers, Newell, Elkader; Milton, Mederville; and Malcolm, Strawberry Point. His father died in 1943.
