Glen E. Harris, 49, of Ely, died Wednesday at St. Luke's Hospital following a brief illness.
Born July 30, 1932, at Cutler, Ohio, he was married to Gloria Nading on Dec. 26, 1954, at Strawberry Point. He was employed by Van Dyke's Auto Restoration and was commander of the St. Quentin American Legion Post No. 555. He served in the Air Force during the Korean and Vietnam conflicts.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his mother, Elizabeth Harris of Cutler, Ohio; four daughters, Michelle De Sutter of Victor, Glenda Berns of Rockford, Ill., and Vicki and Sarah, both at home; two sons, Brent, at home, and Steven of New Jersey; two sisters, Hazel Singer of Cutler, Ohio, and Helen Tabler of Ohio; one brother, Gale of Canton, Ohio; and two grandchildren.
Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Witt Funeral Home, Elkader, by Dr. Gene A. Becker of Peace United Church of Christ. Burial: Mederville. Friends may call at Turner Chapel West from 3 to 9 p.m. today and at Witt Funeral Home, Elkader, after 2 p.m. Friday. a memorial fund has been established. Arrangements by Turner Chapel West.
