Elkader- Final rites for Miss Florence Osborne, 55, former teacher in Clayton County rural schools, will be held at the Witt Funeral Home.
She died in Des Moines Saturday. Burial will be in the Mederville Cemetery.

Florence Mae Osborne, the daughter of Thomas and Caroline Osborne, was born September 11, 1899, at Osborne, Iowa, and died at Des Moines, April 15, 1955, at the age of fifty-five years, seven months and four days.
Florence was never married. She received her education in the Elkader school and attended Teachers college at Cedar Falls. After graduating, she taught for several years. The remainder of her life she did general housework.
In 1950 she suffered a stroke and again in 1951, and since that time was confined to a wheel chair or bed. Last Thursday, she suffered her third stroke which caused her death.
Survivors include one brother, Earl of Osborne, Iowa, one sister, Alice Guyer of Strawberry Point. A niece and nephew, Jean Reinhardt of Elkader, and Tommy Guyer of Strawberry Point.
Services were held from the Witt's funeral home Sunday, April 17, at 2:00 p.m. Burial at Mederville. The Rev. Paul Kitterer officiated at the services.
