Monona- Vernon J. Tayek, 83, a former Monona farmer, died Thursday in Prairie du Chien, Wis., Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

Surviving is a brother, Edwin of McGregor.

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Burial: Monona City Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Schultz's, where a rosary will be recited tonight at 8.

Note: husband of Ruth F., nee Cunningham
