2nd Monona Man Dies of Injuries.
Ben Havlicek, 39, Monona, who was injured in an automobile accident June 8 in which Marion Blietz, Monona, was killed, died at 4 a.m., Monday in the Madison, Wis., Veterans hospital.
At the time of the accident he was reported to have suffered a badly cut leg, but his condition was not considered serious. He was brought to Postville hospital after the accident, but was removed to Madison hospital last Thursday after he had taken a turn for the worse.
Havlicek served two years in the Pacific during World War II.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Anna Havlicek, Monona; three brothers, Leo of Gunder, and Frank and John, Monona; and a sister, Mrs. John Ambrose, Monona.
Two other persons were injured in the accident, a head-on collision on the Marquette road three and one-half miles east of Monona. Helen Lestina, a passenger with Havlicek in the Blietz car, was treated for minor injuries and released. Lee Allen Johanningmeier, driver of the other car, was taken to a Rochester hospital after being given first-aid treatment in Postville hospital.
