Guttenberg- Charles M. Morarend, 66, of Prairie du Chien, Wis., formerly of Guttenberg, died Tuesday, May 2, 2002, in Memorial Hospital, Prairie du Chien, following a long illness. The body will be cremated and no services will be held. Thornburg-Hanson Funeral Home, Prairie du Chien, is in charge of arrangements.

He was born July 7, 1935, in Guttenberg, to Marvin and Juanita Blume Morarend. He worked at Livingston Lumber in Guttenberg for a time. He farmed most of his life in the Gran Grae area of Crawford County, Wis., and moved to Prairie du Chien after his retirement.

Survivors include a brother, Marcus (JoAnn) of Bagley, Wis.; two sisters, Kay (Keith) Knospe of Elkader and Joyce (Jerry) Byers of Whitewater, Wis.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
