Monona- John Paul Smola, 51, died Friday, June 9, 2006, in Veterans Memorial Hospital, Waukon. after a long illness. Memorial services: 11 a.m. Friday, St. Paul Lutheran Church, Monona, by the Rev. Allen Bidne. Inurnment: St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Monona. Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church. Leonard Funeral Home, Monona, is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Cheryl; his parents, John and Bonnie Smola of Monona; a sister, Beth Seelie of Jacksonville, Fla.; and a brother, Jim Smola of McGrath, Alaska.
