Carl G. Schultz, 95, founder of the Schultz Funeral Home of Monona, died Tuesday afternoon at Community Memorial Hospital at Postville after a short illness.
Born May 2, 1886, at rural Victor, he was married to Frieda Kaiser on June 29, 1910, in Monona.
Mr. Schultz started in the funeral business in 1909 and was active in the business 65 years. At the time of his retirement in 1972, he was one of the five oldest practicing morticians in Iowa. He was a member (of the) state and national funeral director associations.
Surviving are his wife; a son, Gordon of Monona; a daughter, Ramona Krambeer of Monona; two brothers, Walter of Cedar Rapids and Harvey of Lincoln, Neb.; a sister, Laura Ebert of Keystone; three grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Services: Saturday, 11 a.m., St. Paul Lutheran Church, Monona, by the Revs. Harold Ward and Henry J. Knoploh. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday at Schultz Funeral Home, Monona, where a prayer service will be held at 8 p.m. Friday. Burial: Lutheran Cemetery, Monona.
