Monona- Harland P. Kottman, 69, died Monday, Aug. 4, 1997, in St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, Minn., after a brief illness. Services: 11 a.m. Friday, St. Paul Lutheran Church. Burial: church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Schultz's Funeral Home, Monona.

Survivors include his wife, LaVon; three daughters, Sheila (Mrs. C. H.) Wendel of Amana, and Julie Wiedenmann and Lisa (Mrs. David) Wille, both of Monona; six grandchildren; and brother, Gary of Monona.

Born Dec. 22, 1927, in Giard Township of Clayton County, he was a son of Leroy and Alice Lestina Kottman. On June 15, 1949, he married LaVon Froning. Harland farmed until 1962 and worked at Hygrade Food Products in Postville.
