Monona- James R. Fite, 66, rural Monona, died Friday at his residence following an extended illness.

Surviving are his wife, Bernis; two sons, Richard of Cedar Rapids and Robert at home; two daughters, Mary Ann Opitz of Minneapolis and Bernis Olson of Waukon; one sister, Jeanette Van Elgin of DePere, Wis.; three half sisters, Gladys, Mildred and Evelyn, all of Green Bay, Wis.; three half brothers, Clarence, Phillip and Ralph Baumgart, all of DePere, Wis.; and eight grandchildren.

Services: 2 p.m. Monday at Garden City United Methodist (brick) Church. Burial: Monona City Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at Schultz's.
