Guttenberg- Two young men from Guttenberg were killed and another injured late Friday afternoon in a one-car crash at the edge of the city limits of Garnavillo.

Killed outright were Jerry Welch, 27, and Dwane Troester, 21.

Hospitalized here in satisfactory condition is Elmer Joseph Herman, 24, also of Guttenberg.

Troester was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Troester. Welch is survived by his wife.

The bodies of Troester and Welch are at Tuecke Funeral Home here.

Other officers investigating the accident in addition to the sheriff were Deputy Sheriff Earl Sterling and Highway Patrolman Howard Bell.
