Muscatine Journal, Muscatine, Iowa, Mon., 16 Dec. 1968.

Elmer J. Kaiser, 83, died Saturday noon at the Lutheran Home's Valley View Manor nursing home.

Mr. Kaiser was a former resident of Monona, Ia., where he was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. He had been blind since childhood and had been a resident at the Lutheran Homes for 20 years.

Mr. Kaiser was born Oct. 9, 1885, in Clayton county, the son of Herman and Pauline Wirkler Kaiser. He had never married.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

A prayer service was conducted at 7 p.m. at the George M. Wittich Funeral Home by Rev. L. A. Stumme. The body was removed Sunday morning to the Schultz Funeral Home at Monona, for burial at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery.
