Henry Genz, a long time resident of Franklin township, died at the home of his son north of Hardin, last Friday, September 17th, aged 85 years, 2 months and 17 days. His death was due to bronchial pneumonia. The funeral was held Sunday from the Lutheran church in Luana.

William* Genz was born June 30th, 1841, and came to America in 1868 and landed at Cleveland, Ohio, a year later 1869 he moved to McGregor and two years later moved to Milwaukee, being there two years, he moved back to Clayton county, residing on different farms and in 1903 with his wife retired and moved to Watson. To this union were born eight children of which six preceded him in death. His wife passed away Jan. 17, 1917, and since then he has made his home with his son Henry, north of Hardin. He is survived by one son and one daughter and eleven grandchildren. He passed away about 3 o'clock Friday morning, Sept. 17th, 1926, at the home of his son. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Kumpf which were held in the Luana Lutheran church Sunday afternoon. Burial in the Monona Lutheran cemetery.
