McGregor, Ia., Jan. 11 - Mrs. J.W. DeHaven, 76, wife of James Dehaven, one of the few survivors of the Sixth Iowa cavalry of the Civil war, died at her home here Monday following a long illness.

She had been a resident of Clayton county for 74 years, coming here from New York with her parents in 1857. Besides her husband, she is survived by one son, Earl of McGregor. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon.

McGregor, Ia., Jan 12 - Mrs. James W. DeHaven, 76-year old resident of McGregor, died Monday morning at 4 o'clock after an illness of three years. Mrs. DeHaven is survived by her husband, Civil war veteran who is 89 years old, and one son, Earl. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon in the Congregational church with interment in Pleasant Grove cemetery.

McGregor, Ia., Jan. 15 - Funeral services for Mrs. James De Haven were held Wednesday afternoon in the McGregor Congregational church, the Rev. J. Priestley officiating. Interment was made in Pleasant Grove cemetery.

Eloah M. Hill was born in New York state Nov. 4, 1855. She died, after a lingering illness, at her home in McGregor, Jan. 11, at the age of 77.

She came to Iowa from New York with her parents when two years old, her parents settling on a farm near St. Olaf. On July 4, 1885, she was married to James De Haven, and later the couple moved to Marquette. In 1891 they moved to McGregor, where they have since made their home.

Mrs. De Haven is survived by one son, Earl, two grandchildren and her aged husband, one of McGregor's three surviving Civil war veterans.
