Guttenberg- Lawrence F. "Ike" Thiese, 65, died Friday morning, March 31, 1995, in Guttenberg Municipal Hospital after a brief illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial: Guttenberg City Cemetery, with military rites. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Guttenberg.

Survivors include a sister, Edith Borcherding, and a brother, Bill, both of Guttenberg.

Services for Lawrence "Ike" F. Thiese, 65, of rural Guttenberg, were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 3, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Guttenberg, and were conducted by Pastor Lloyd Helland.

Mr. Thiese died Friday, March 31, 1995, at Guttenberg Municipal Hospital following a brief illness.

Visitation was held Sunday at the Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home.

Interment was in Guttenberg City Cemetery. Casket bearers were: David Thiese, Brian Thiese, Steve Thurn, John Thiese, Paul Dement, and Lyndon Mohning. Honorary bearers were: Eric Thiese, Adam Thiese and Mark Thiese. Military honors were accorded at the cemetery by the Guttenberg American Legion, Amvets and VFW posts.

Lawrence Ferdinand Thiese was a son of Otto and Hilda (Bruening) Thiese and was born on Pleasant Ridge, near Clayton, on Sept. 9, 1929. He attended Pleasant Ridge school. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1954-57. Mr. Thiese farmed all his life, first near Osterdock and later north of Guttenberg.

He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Edith (and Vuegene) Borcherding of Guttenberg; one brother, Bill Thiese of Guttenberg; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Charlene Hess and Hilda Fischer; and three brothers, Gerald, Robert and Otto.
