Elkader-- Reuben V. Christen, 76, of rural Elkader, died Friday, Dec. 15, 2000, in his home after a long illness. Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Elkader, by the Rev. Paul Peters. Burial: St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Elkader. Friends may call 3 to 7 p.m. Monday and from 7 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Leonard Funeral Home, Elkader, where a Scripture service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Monday.

Survivors include his wife, Geraldine; five children, Kenneth of Edgewood, Marlene Sauerbry of Belleville, Ill., Randall of Oakdale, Bernard of Decorah and Michael of Elkader; a brother, George of Waterloo; and a sister, Betty Jensen of Elgin.
