Cedar Rapids Gazette, Tues., 13 May 1986.

Bernice E. Connell, 75, died Sunday morning at the Elkader hospital.

Surviving are her husband, James; a son, Mark Kainz of Elkader; a brother, Herbert Masuen of Garnavillo; a sister, Rebecca Meder of Garnavillo; and three grandchildren.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Burial: church cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at Leonard-Witt's, where a Guild rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m. today and a parish rosary at 8 tonight.
