Elkader-- Last rites were held at 10 a.m. today (Monday, Jan. 3) for Joseph Cox, 73, who died Dec. 31 at his family residence in Elkader.

A former maintenance man for the city of Elkader, he had been in failing health for a year. Mr. Fox had been an Elkader resident for 28 years.

A native of Wadena, he married Ella Feeney in 1926.

Survivors include his widow, two sons, Robert, Cedar Rapids and Jerry, Champaign, Ill.; two brothers, Frank and Andrew, both of Volga; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Ernest, Volga and Kathryn Manley, Mason City and three grandchildren.

Services were held at St. Joseph's Catholic church with burial in the church cemetery. Witt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
