Funeral services for Milo E. Munger were held at the Peace Evangelical & Reformed church in Elkader, Sunday afternoon, February 10. The Rev. Paul Kitterer officiated. Burial was in the East Side cemetery, Elkader, with the Masons in charge.

Milo Enos Munger, son of Milo Enos Munger and Jane Glazer Munger of New York State, was born May 4, 1858 in Crawford county, Penn. and died at the Good Samaritan Home in West Union, February 7, at the age of 93 years.

Mr. Munger came to Elkader with his parents in the year 1866. He worked on his father's farm in Read township until he was nineteen years of age, at which time he decided to learn the shoe maker trade, which trade he followed until his retirement in 1934.

In 1879 he was united in marriage to Miss Sophia J. Lambke of Osborne. To this union four children were born, Frank Arthur Munger, deceased, Mrs. Ray (Florence) Jacobia, Postville; Henry Knight Munger, deceased; and the Rev. Vern J. Munger, Baltimore, Md.

Mr. and Mrs. Munger were privileged to celebrate their golden wedding in 1929. In 1941, after the death of his wife, he moved to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ray Jacobia, where he remained until last April. Since that time he has been in the Good Samaritan Home in West Union.

Mr. Munger was a member of the Masonic Lodge, No. 72, A.F. & A.M., and a sixty-four year Mason. He was a member of Peace Evangelical and Reformed church, Elkader.

His wife preceded him in death in the year 1937. His sister, Mrs. Carrie Woodson, Arlington, died Monday, February 4, 1952.

Surviving are his two children, Mrs. Ray Jacobia, the Rev. Vern J. Munger, nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his wife and two sons, Frank and Henry.

Pall bearers were Elmer Meyer, Richard Wolf, Harry Conrad, Henry Wolf, Julius Pahlas and Vern Hupfer.
