The remains of Miss Addie Oelrich were brought from Bisbee, Arizona, to Monona for burial. Miss Oelrich is a daughter of William Oelrich of Monona and was born and brought up at Monona, graduating from the high school. She completed a course in domestic science at the Iowa State Normal, and subsequently went to Bisbee where she has been teaching for three years.
Nine weeks ago she came down with typhoid fever and was taken to the hospital. Her father and sister, Mrs. John Allert of McGregor have been with her.
She leaves beside her father and sister, one brother, Arthur Oelrich of Dubuque. The funeral, held at the Methodist church at Monona, was very largely attended.
~LaCrosse Tribune, Friday, April 21, 1916 (Monona column)
~Researcher Richard O'Brien says Addie also had an obit published in an April issue of the Waukon Standard but the specific cemetery in Monona was not given. Until confirmed otherwise, burial in the Monona City cemetery will be assumed.
