Elkader, Ia. - Funeral services were held at St. Joseph's Church here Monday morning for James F. Corkery, 79, who died at his home following a short illness. The services were conducted by the Rev. J.P. Taken, pastor, and burial was in the Volga Cemetery.

Mr. Corkery had been confined to his home for the past year as the result of a broken hip received in a fall. He had been a resident of Clayton County practically all of his life. He farmed for a number of years and after retiring, moved to Volga City and then to Elkader.

Besides his widow, he is survived by three daughters and five sons.
