DIED. At Madison, Wis., April 6th, 1879, of hemorrhage of the liver, H.E. HOWE, aged 69 years, lacking 19 days.
Mr. HOWE settled at Monona about 50 years ago, where he resided until 8 years ago, when he removed to Madison, Wisconsin.
Being one of the pioneers in this section of northern Iowa he was well known to all the old settlers. He had been in feeble health for some time, but was not confined closely to his bed until last Saturday and on Sunday he passed away.
His remains were brought to Monona and deposited in the Cemetery there on Wednesday. He leaves a wife and six children to mourn his loss, among the latter, F.A. HOWE, of Waukon, and E.L. HOWE, of Ossian, both well known here.
