Carl "Carly" Hefel, 66, of rural Garnavillo, died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2000, in his home after a long illness. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, St. Mary's Catholic Church, Guttenberg, by Monsignor John McClean. Burial: Immaculate Conception Cemetery, North Buena Vista, with military rites. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. today at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Guttenberg, where a wake service begins at 3 p.m.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon; two daughters, Genevieve Hefel and Debra Friday, both of Gainesville, Fla.; a son, Carl of Guttenberg; three stepsons, Rayne Krambeer of Byron, Ill., Jared Krambeer of Monona and Wade Krambeer of Rochester, Minn.; three sisters, Catherine Moser of Guttenberg, Evelyn McGuire of Dyersville and Norma Latteyer of Shellsburg; and eight brothers, Raymond of Apache Junction, Ariz., Gerald of Sherrill, Thomas and Lester, both of North Buena Vista, Emmet, Leon and Robert, all of Dubuque, and Daniel of Guttenberg.
