Allard Nyberg

Funeral services for Allard Nyberg were held Saturday, Feb. 27 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville. The Rev. Julius L. Peterson officiated. The Schutte Funeral Home of Postville was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.

Allard S. Nyberg, son of Oscar and Selina (Jenson) Nyberg, was born March 22, 1917 at Gunder, Iowa. He died Feb. 24, 1982 at Lutheran Hospital, LaCrosse, Wis.

He was baptized and confirmed at the Marion Lutheran Church in Gunder. Since 1950 he has been a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. He received his education in the rural school at Gunder and was graduated from Postville High School in 1934.

On March 7, 1940 he was married to Jacqueline Lane. To this union four children were born.

In 1949 Allard joined his father in the operation of a farm supply store which specialized as an Iowa distributor for Holland-made twine.

On November 9, 1960 he was married to Juanita (Bivins) Reilly. He is preceded in death by his father, a sister and three brothers in infancy.

Surviving are his wife Juanita, two sons: Alan Nyberg of Des Moines, and David Schroeder of Merced, Calif; two daughters: Mrs. Gary (Cheryl) Ash of Postville and Kathy Hartman of Des Moines; three step-sons: Michael Reilly of Rochester, Minn., Patrick Reilly of Omaha, Neb. and Steven Reilly of Portland, Ore.; two step-daughters: Mrs. Nyle (Linda) Nesvik of Postville and Mrs. Scott (Sharon) DeLemos of Houston, Texas; twelve grandchildren, his mother, Mrs. Selina Nyberg of Postville and a sister, Mrs. Harland (Dolores) Troy of Florissant, Mo.
