Roseann Kraus
Roseann (Balk) Kraus, age 57, of Garnavillo, died Sunday, May 5, 2013, at her home with her husband by her side.
Visitation was Tuesday, May 7, at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Garnavillo, and one hour before services at the church. Funeral services were Wednesday, May 8, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Garnavillo, conducted by Rev. Wayne Ellingson and Irmgard Ellingson.
Interment was at Ceres Cemetery, rural Garnavillo.Roseann was born on May 28, 1955, in Prairie du Chien, Wis., the daughter of Andrew C. and Anna (Cuchna) Balk.
Roseann’s life has been spent in the Garnavillo area. She attended the Garnavillo School where she graduated with the class of 1973. Not long after high school, Roseann married and gave birth to two sons, Kyle and Travis. On December 20, 1985, Roseann was married to Rollyn Kraus at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Garnavillo. For many years, Roseann worked in the bookkeeping department for various businesses. Roseann enjoyed planting flowers, working with her garden in the woods and attending church. Roseann was very dedicated to St. Paul Church. She was active with many organizations within the church and was readily available to help with many events as well. Roseann was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Roseann will be forever loved and cherished by her husband, Rollyn; two sons, Kyle Dettmann of St. Olaf and Travis Dettmann of Garnavillo; four grandchildren, Brooklyn, Kennsington, Corbin and Andrew; eight siblings, William Balk of Cedar Rapids, James Balk of Elma, Helen (Wayne) Barrett of Ayrshire, Karolyn Balk of Clayton, Roger (Shirley) Balk of Garnavillo, Sandra Anderson of Liberty Hill, Texas, Thomas Balk of Aurora, Colo. and Donald Richard (Mindy) Balk of West Union and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Roseann was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Andrew Balk Jr. and Jeffrey Balk.
