Garnavillo, Ia. - Funeral services for Mrs. Theresa Kister, 78, who died Sunday at the home of her son, Joseph, were held at St. Joseph's church here Wednesday morning.

Mrs. Kister, the former Theresa Merz, was born in Burgham, Germany, on Sept. 9, 1867. She came to the United States when 18, and on Oct. 20, 1885, was married to Joseph Kister. They lived on a farm in Garnavillo township.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Frank (Lucy) Auer, Monona, Ia.; a son, Joseph; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded by her husband and a son.
