BENSCHNEIDER, THEIN, COSTIGAN, BEATTY, HALEY, ENDERES

Elkport, Ia. - Funeral services for Louis Benschneider, 77, who died in Finley hospital, Dubuque, Saturday, after a month's illness, were held at the Immanuel Lutheran church here Monday afternoon. The Rev. E.H. Mueller, pastor, officiated. Burial was in Mt. Harmony cemetery. Pallbearers, nephews, were Wayne Benschneider, Gilbert Rutledge, Loran Rutledge, Melvin Enderes, Levitt Bush and Julius Krouse.

Mr. Benschneider was born at Littleport, Ia. on July 28, 1868, and was married to Josephine Thein in June, 1898, and for 30 years operated a hardware store in Elkport.

He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Merle Costigan, Mrs. Ruth Beatty, and Mrs. Fay Haley; two brothers, Henry and August Benschneider; two sisters, Mrs. Reka Thein and Mrs. Louise Enderes; and three grandchildren. He was preceded by his wife, who died July 2, 1926, two sisters and one brother.
