KICKBUSH RITES HELD FRIDAY

Well Known Local Resident Died After Long Illness

Funeral services were held last Friday from the Tuecke funeral home for Mrs. Selma Marguerite Kickbush, 55, who died Wednesday, October 14, at the Guttenberg Municipal Hospital following an illness of several months.

The services were conducted by Rev. L.C. Urlaub, pastor of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Garnavillo, with burial in the Guttenberg City cemetery. Pallbearers for the service were Lorimer Olson, Ted Koehler, Clark Gull Jr., and Arlan Kickbush, all nephews of the deceased.

Mrs. Selma Marguerite Kickbush was born in Mallory Township of Clayton County on September 13, 1909, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Troester. On June 4, 1930 she was married to Ervin O. Kickbush. They were the parents of one son, Loris.

Following her marriage, Mrs. Kickbush made her home near Millville until late last fall when she and her husband moved to Guttenberg to make their home.

Mrs. Kickbush was active in community affairs including ten years spent as a leader of 4-H clubs. She also was active in the Farm Bureau women's organization for many years and had been county women's chairman for two years.

Mrs. Kickbush was preceded in death by her mother, Mrs. Charles Troester on March 20, 1964. She is survived by her husband, Ervin; her son, Loris; her father, Charles Troester, all of Guttenberg; one sister, Mrs. Ernest Kickbush of Colesburg; two brothers, Leon Troester of Colesburg, Dwight Troester of St. Petersburg, Florida; three grandchildren, Diane, David and Debra Kickbush of Guttenberg.
