Mrs. Harry Koth of Luana went to Camp Pike last week to visit her husband who is in the service there. Word has been received that Mrs. Koth died while there. We are without further particulars.

The remains of Mrs. Harry Koth were brought home Friday evening, accompanied by Private Harry Koth, his sister, Mrs. Reidel, of Monona, and Miss Justina Otting of McGregor, Mrs. Koth's sister. Funeral services occurred at Monona at the Methodist church, Sunday afternoon, Rev. Bird of Waukon, pastor in charge.
Rev. Bird, last April united in marriage Harry Koth and Miss Ada Otting of McGregor. Mr. Koth at the time was secretary of the creamery here. He purchased a house and brought his bride here.
Being of draft age he registered in June. In September he was sent to Camp Dodge, Iowa, she assuming the duties as secretary until his term expired, which was January 21. The last of November he was transferred to Camp Pike, Ark., where about three weeks ago she went to visit him and was taken ill. On Saturday they took her to the hospital where she died Monday afternoon, April 1st.
During her short residence in Luana she had won many friends and was a worker in the Red Cross where she will be greatly missed. Private Koth will report for duty at Camp Pike about April 16.
