MCGREGOR, Iowa -- Charley M. Love, 89, McGregor, Iowa, died Monday, May 20, 2013, at Dubuque Nursing and Rehab in Dubuque, Iowa.

Charley was born on August 27, 1923, rural McGregor, Iowa, to Harry and Grace (Oliver) Love.

Charley was united in marriage to Dorothy Arneson on May 9, 1945, in Elkader, Iowa. Dorothy later passed away on April 1, 1981.
Charley worked for the rail road for several years and helped several farmers in the area.

Survivors include two nieces, Joyce Jones, Dubuque, Margie (Jerry) Walsh, Dubuque; one nephew, Don McGill, Illinois; step-daughter, Mary Greener, McGregor and step-grandson, Bruce (Sharon) Greener, McGregor.

Charley was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ralph and Alfred Riesselman and two sisters, Louise Banks and Beulah Jones.

The family would like to thank Mount Pleasant Home, Dubuque Nursing and Rehab and Hospice of Dubuque for their tremendous care for Charley.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 24, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the Thornburg – Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of McGregor, Iowa.

Visitation will be held one hour before services at the funeral home on Friday.

Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, McGregor, Iowa.

Thornburg – Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of McGregor, Iowa, is in charge of arrangements.
